Shawnee Township was founded in 1831 in Allen County, Ohio and has a population of 12,488 in the 2020 census.  It is 36.4 sq. miles and has 92 miles of road. The median household income in the township is $92,758.  The main industries located in Shawnee Township are Cenovus Lima Refinery, Nutrien, INEOS Chemicals, and the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center which manufactures the U.S. Army battle tank. Shawnee Township is home to the Shawnee Local School District and Apollo Career Center. Beautiful Heritage Park is located in Shawnee Township, which is the starting point of the Rotary River Walk which meanders along the Ottawa River for 13 miles.
